During his 17 years as X-Men writer, Claremont co-created characters such as Rogue, Psylocke, Mystique, Emma Frost, Sabretooth, Gambit and many more!

Claremont has written many classic X-Men stories, including those which are providing source material for this summer’s The Wolverine movie, starring Hugh Jackman, and summer 2014’s hotly-anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past, directed by Bryan Singer and starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.

John Bolton is an award-winning comic artist and illustrator. He has collaborated with some of the industries most prestigious comic writers, such as Neil Gaiman on The Books of Magic for DC Comics, Mike Carey on God Save The Queen for Vertigo DC Comics and Clive Barker on Hellraiser.

From the world of film Bolton has worked with Robert Zemeckis, Sam Raimi and Jonathan Glazer.
Descended of Caesar, and preceded by her legendary reputation as a warrior, Marada The She-Wolf follows Marada's adventures across the Roman Empire. “I look through these pages and I’m reminded, most eloquently, just how gifted John Bolton is as an artist, how breathtakingly skilled he is at evoking character and event, how powerfully and also subtly he can present a scene,” says writer, Chris Claremont.

Marada The She-Wolf hits stores on November 12, 2013. The collection will also be available to read day and date on the iPad, iPhone, Web, Android and Kindle Fire, exclusively through the comiXology app and comiXology.com.

All hype?

If you ever saw Marada The She-Wolf before it was probably via Epic Comics and the odd "spotty" colouring used back then or even in black and white.  Or you may have had the Marvel Graphic Novel like me -which I still treasure.  Nice quality for "back-in-the-day" as we aging hipsters like to say.
But not a tad as crisp and vividly bright as this Titan Book.

I really had forgotten just how great an artist Bolton is. I mean, I knew he was good as I've looked through Marada and his other work a few times over the years.  Seeing this book, however, just made me say "wow".  It is incredible just how good printing quality has become and this is like looking at a whole new work. Bloody incredible.

I would really like to see other classics get this treatment (maybe Axa next?)

The book also has a nice introduction, a look at how Marada came to be and more.  Seriously, if you are a comic fan you need this book.  If you are married to or have a comic geek in your life -this is a fantastic gift. I'm still opening the book at looking at the colours. This is WHY I work in black and white -this is how a master colours.

Oh, and it's a great story.

Right now, once this review is typed, I am having a cup of coffee and reading through this again. A proud addition to the Titan Books library!
