West Coast Avengers Movie? Iron Man & Guardians Of The Galaxy? blah blah blah

I got a couple messages asking if I'd seen the "BIG news" that after Avengers 2 "old Shell Head" (Iron Man) was going to lead a new team -perhaps splitting into two Avengers franchises?

So I checked.  One site says "check out the big news at....."  I followed the link to get "....has reported that..." and then you get to the source which is spouting absolute unfounded speculation and from no particular source.

Now, according to Robert Downey Jr, himself:  "There are no plans for Iron Man 4" and if he DID sign a contract for such a film he would only do so if Mel Gibson directed.

Just how feckin difficult is it for a "very well informed site" to find that out?  Iron Man leading a new team in Avengers 3? A couple people have said -shouted- that "It's going to be the West Coast Avengers!!"

We call this people desperate to get site hits and making all sorts of BS statements as facts when they are not and there is no basis for them.  And the fans just go "Wow!"

Let's look at this properly. Downey does not want to do Iron Man 4 unless Gibson directs.  Would Hollywood allow that?  Oh, like film execs are going to stop signing a deal like that because it might upset some people.  Yeah, forget the millions any such movie would make.  Someone even speculated that the studio could replace Downey's Tony Stark character with James Rhodes.  Hmm. Right.

After Avengers Assemble they came up with all the blurby "This is an Avengers World"...which, when you look at it, in the context that the Avengers are on Earth and nowhere else...well, that's a dumb statement. But in the comics and even the animated series Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes the Avengers met up with a currently over-hyped money spinning movie team called The Guardians Of The Galaxy.  Iron Man even joined up.

All this after the messy 'Star Wars' meets Avengers story when "This is an Avengers World" made sense.

Could it be that Avengers 3 sees a little cross-over with the Guardians leading to their next movie (and there WILL be one) and Iron Man, or Tony Stark on the team?  Someone at Disney thinking about the money from Iron Man and Guardians combining has been taking to hospital as he's been orgasming ever since.

Speculation but based on the comics, the movies and the money....and whether Gibson directs IM 4.

More fact than you'll find on the other sites.
