SECRET WARS Live Kickoff...if you expected some exciting news...bwahahaha

Basically, Marvel has run out of ideas so are stealing the idea of Crisis On Infinite Earths.  All this is, let's be honest, is an advert for Marvel the video ad you only see as the guy with the camera ties to zoom past a very bored Tom Brevoort, who just cannot keep quiet basically says "BUY! buy1 buy! buy!" an I think this Marvel fan said it all in the comments:

Marco Claudino

"There are no words to express how pissed i am...half an hour of my life in the toilet"
Seriously, it is just saying you have to buy all the books and that is it.  Oh, and the video only start at 3m 36 secs.

  1. 'Secret' Wars ? Looking at this poster - where is the 'Secret' part ? Beautiful art if you look at any one piece - just cup your hands around it - but as a total ? Sadly, it screams out endless violence and more violence... and violence...ah well... it is beautiful art.... anyway, just a note, the slim package went off today.. I'm still working on a larger one... sorry it's about two days behind schedule - problems with Jehovah's Witnesses. I only wish I were kidding. The Dr. Who GLAAD award.. let it go. Maybe the Victorians thought she was wearing a mask or something. One of the good things about this - I had a long discussion with an American teacher - is that the stigma is going away and the 'thrill' value is going away - simply put, at some future time it simply won't be an issue WHAT you are, and TV writers and whoever will be able to assign roles freely. At that time we'll have a Hispanic gay James Bond, a black lesbian Doctor Who a Chinese transgender US President and an unmarried Indian woman as PM in the UK... and no one will bat an eyelid. I guess I should explain thrill value - I had to to the guy. Think 'Q&A' with Nick Nolte, 'Cruising' with Al Pacino, 'IN & OUT' with Kevin Klein - and others, all well recieved movies ( I like Q&A - maybe Timothy Hutton's best movie..it's a bit dated now ) but all of the plot devices revolve around gender bias and gender stereotypes ( even while trying to make a moral issue of it, as in Q&A ). The Gay element in these movies - is what sells the movie. The point could be argued, but I think anyone who takes the Gay element out of any of those movies, realizes, it's what made the movie work.
Anyway, I rant. Don't take me seriously. I need to sleep. Another horrible day tomorrow. aggh. Take it easy.

  2. After a week of being unwell I suspect I would not be surprised even by the fact that a gay albino hedgehog has become Chancellor of the Exchequer. As I have NO communications with anyone -not since a couple weeks before Christmas, even another Court fine would be welcome. Note I am retired now.

  3. Oh, and by "Secret Wars" what they are doing is hiding the fact that the whole thing is nothing more than ripping off DC Comics 1984 series Crisis On Infinite Earths -they even use images based on that and PR lines! House of Unoriginality!

  4. House of Unoriginality seems to hit the mark. I checked through some of the promo teasers for Avengers 2 'Age of Ultron' ( you posted up)... and it suddenly dawned on me ( I am slow ) ... Ultron was made by Tony Stark. What ? Even in my limited knowledge of Mavel law I know that's off mark. Ant-Man did it. Hank Pym. Bloody history changing ##$$&%%$` Dis/vel idiots.
Sorry you've been sick for a week, Terry, and, although a gay albino hedgehog was in fact Chancellor for a few days they had to sack him as his personality was too prickly. HoHoHo. That's the best joke I've got at the moment. My communication will be arriving at your abode shortly - I hope you enjoy it... oh, and I'm glad that you're doing a bit on GREEN SKIES.That gladdened my heart. Off for my shot and a bad sleep. See ya.

  5. Even the best animated super heroes series I've seen -Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes (which Disney just ended with "to be concluded" storylines never finished for that shit Avengers Assemble- got it right that Pym created Ultron and Ultron (sort of) created the vision. BUT as Tony Stark is the only genius scientist in the movie universe....they screwed themselves. They COULD have linked Avengers 2 and Hank Pym from the Ant Man movie to reveal; he created Ultron (Stark was just messing around to arrogantly improve it -as per animated series). Who cares? NOT Disney as its the money that speaks.
Still up and down health-wise. Went out once in 6 days and I NEVER normally stay in. Getting on with building my European farm model and drawing.
I may just look at Green Skies and say "**** it. Everyone died -even if it is turning up surprises for me!!
    Enjoy your shot.

  6. haha. if everyone died include me. Feel like I've run over by a truck. Y'know, as a weird aside,I now know why so many people relax watching tv. I just watched the Secret Wars 30 min video piece you put up... and in my current zombed out state, it was kind of restful. I couldn't be bothered to turn it off. I just sat... and at the end I couldn't really remeber what I'd watched - it had no impact on me - but I felt I hadn't wasted my time...I had done something. Isn't that just sad ?
Oh - I have to disagree - respectfully, of course - that in the Movie Marvel Movie Universe of Disney ( MMUD ) there is only one genius scientist...they could easilly whip up another ( IRON MAN 2 - Mickey Rourke, THOR AVENGERS 1 Skarsgaard ) nnoo no... there's only one bankable talent like Downey Jr. And indeed, on this point you are right on the money. Money talks. Money. And only money... and with the huge amounts of money these companies are sinking into their blockbuster movies, it is understandable... but sadly, ultimately, not the right choice. If you lose the fans... you lost it all.

  7. Most long term Marvel fans have quit! They are either building up their Silver Age collection or buying rarely. Most modern Marvel -or DC- fans have no long term investment in characters and they are what Disney wants -every reboot is "hot"!!
