PLEASE Consider Supporting CBO

Please consider supporting Comic Bits Online because it is a very rare thing in these days of company mouthpiece blogs that are only interested in selling publicity to you. With support CBO can continue its work to bring you real comics news and expand to produce the video content for this site. Money from sales of Black Tower Comics & Books helps so please consider checking out the online store.

During a glider flight training course, Yoko makes a landing near an important telecommunication centre, and there meets a mysterious English Lord. A fortuitous encounter that will propel the young woman and her friends into an incredible adventure – her combined skills as a pilot and an electronic engineer make her the ideal candidate for an insane project: land a glider clandestinely inside a crater at the border of China, Russia and Afghanistan.

Hmm. Seems like there is a primate feel running in the latest Cinebook releases -first in Alone and now here....get that cover.  I ought to point out that this is a bit of an aircraft lovers edition, too.  Hey -the border between China, Afghanistan and Russia: my favourite place but I am not allowed to talk about 1984.

I had, initially, thought that this series was just a "girls comic" but from what I've seen (not all the editions but most) these are pure action, adventure and fun.  Not at any point did I think "but she's a girl!" There is and has never been a reason why girls or women cannot read comics -just because UK publishers totally screwed up things because they were crooked.  And this is another example of why we will have a Cinebook Generation in the UK....does that make Olivier Cadic "Oncle Olivier"?

HAH!

Yoko Tsuno ought to appeal to anyone who loves to read comics -whatever age or sex- even to any aliens who may be studying our planet. And, sadly, if you are in Bristol you might have to shop around as I've not come across copies in book shops -but there is the online option at the Cinebook site.

Recommended.
