One night, on an isolated moor, Yoko, Vic and Pol are eagerly waiting for their friend Khany. When she arrives, she whisks them away on a shuttle and takes them not to one of the Vineans’ underground facilities, but to a station near Saturn. And that’s only the first leg of their journey! They’re soon invited to travel much, much further: the Vineans have decided to return to their planet, to see if it survived the cataclysm that drove them into exile.
So, just in case you have no idea about Yoko Tsuno: Yoko Tsuno is an electrical engineer, who was raised in Japan but now lives in Belgium. She is quite compassionate and has a knack for making friends. Yoko is also a skilled scuba diver, holds a black belt in aikido, and can pilot both gliders and helicopters. Which means that Tsuno is very well qualified for the adventures she finds herself caught up in.. The flaw she does admit to having is the typically Japanese trait of valuing personal honour highly -no, don't get me started:this is about a comic character- that can, at times, make her trusting to the point of blindness.
Don't be fooled, as I was at first, into thinking this is either a "girls" comic or one for children.  It can be but the adventures and strong characterisation do not deserve such shallow categorisations. And the art is nice and clean and each panel has a lot of detail -far more than you realise until you really look. The alien craft, space station -alien structures (interior and exterior) and terrain -absolutely wonderful and the colour work by Studio Leonard just adds more to every page.
It's a great adventure and as if I needed to have my excitement level piqued -volume 11 is The Titans.  And the cover to that one......!!
