2017 Clallam Bay Comicon Schedule


CLALLAM BAY - 20 June 2017. Held July 8-9, at 90 Bogachiel Street, in the Lion's Club Building, in Clallam Bay, on Washington State's Olympic Peninsula.

Saturday July 8th schedule:

10:00 am: Clallam Bay Comicon opens for Set-up.

11:00 am: Clallam Bay Sekiu Fun Days Parade.

Noon: Clallam Bay Comicon opens.

Whole convention: open gaming or cosplay on the outside porch, unless game or cosplay is quiet, and inside space is available.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Film with our Guest Artist, Diana Kennedy: The Vosgian Beast (24 minutes). The duel of two legends: President JFK gets lost in the French mountains and faces the "Vosgian Beast." A beautiful and funny, hand-drawn animated film By Diana Kennedy.

2:00 pm - 3:30 pm - “Let’s make a crown" Wire and bead crowns, take these simple skills with you to turn into your own creations, and walk away with a crown. Watching is free; make-and-take $5.00 for materials.With Alice Ryan.

4:00 - 5:00 pm - “The Nuts and Bolts of Steampunk” An intro to the world of Steampunk to prepare for the upcoming Steampunk-themed convention. With Kevin Ryan.

5:00 pm: Lion's Club hall closes.

6:00 pm: Fish-n-chips-n-beer feast at the Clallam Bay Inn. Everybody welcome!

Dusk: Clallam Bay/Sekiu Fun Days Fireworks, in Sekiu.

Sunday July 9th Schedule (time allotted for beach walk, good breakfast, church, etc.):

11:00: Clallam Bay Comicon opens for set-up.

12:00: Clallam Bay Comicon opens to public

12:00 noon to 1:00 pm - Open Cosplay. If you love costuming, bring your ideas and materials, and BE this round-table event. The space and time is open to all cosplayers and costumers. Have fun!

2:00 to 3:00 PM - "Minicomics In All Their Glory" - with Larry Lewis. While there may be No Rules for making minicomics there are some things to keep in mind. I'll bring the paper and other tools, you bring the pencil, pen, or whatever you'd like on it, and we'll make books!

3:00 to 4:00 pm: "Easy (and hard!) Self-Publishing" - Modest Medusa creator and Combine editor Jake Richmond talks about how easy (and how hard!) self publishing your own comics is! Learn how to get your comics out there and find an audience by using Kickstarter, Patreon, Print on Demand and social media!


5:00: Clallam Bay Comicon closes. Dealers put away tables and chairs and clean the Lion's club.
